    Matsunoki belongs to a tribe of snow leopard demons which reside within a mountainous region which they had migrated from centuries ago. Their territory is full of life, which made perfect hunting grounds even in harsh weather conditions.

    The mountains where his tribe is located is protected by a kitsune, a nine-tailed fox, named Asahi. For generations, the leopard tribe loyally worked for the female kitsune -- providing what she needed in exchange for her protection. However, one day, an intruder had tricked the fox demoness and in return, had stolen her prized star ball.

    Being the second of his kind gifted with a human-like form (since his father, like him, had been killed many years ago when he was but a child), Asahi had tasked him a quest to retrieve her precious star ball before it is used against her and in return, being forced to do things against her will.
